Mitsubishi electric car broken down again

Zero Carbon World with Tesla electric car

4th September 2010 - Our Mitsubishi Electric Car has broken down again. This is now the forth time the car has broken down and had to be recovered.

We had a lovely day in Leamington Spa, the kids played in the park, paddling pool and tennis. When we returned to the car we unlocked it, got in and tried to start it. The switch could move to the start position but would not get the car into ready mode. After a couple of attempts the car alarm went off. We tried several times turning it off and back on again but still nothing happened. We then locked the i MiEV and unlocked it again, still nothing happened and the alarm kept going off.

There is only one thing to do phone the Mitsubishi Assistance Package (MAP). They were very helpful and said that someone would be with us within the hour, we arranged that they would collect the car and return the driver to our home address. The rest of the family got a lift home with our parents.

MAP arrived very promptly to collect the car and loaded it onto the transporter, the only problem was they were unable to take a passenger due to their insurance, that left Mike stuck at Leamington Spa. I then drive a 14 mile round trip to collect him.

We need to arrange a hire car next week as we both need a car on a couple of days, we will speak to MAP Monday morning and get it organised. We will also need to speak to the garage to ensure that the car has been delivered to them and that the engineer who deals with the Mitsubishi i MiEV will be able to look at the car.
