Car Update for Mitsubishi Electric Car
11th September 2010 -
The car update for Mitsubishi Electric car has now been completed. When we first collected the i MiEV there was a problem with one of the warning lights the EPS coming on at various times
We called into our local garage to see if the electric car was ready for collection. They confirmed the update was complete and we could take the car today or wait until Monday when they have had time to clean it. We much excitement we decided to collect the car straight away and get back to electric car driving.
We talked to one of Mitsubishi’s representatives and he confirmed that the reason that the auxiliary battery has been going flat is due to the tracker unit fitted to the vehicle as part of the CABLED trial. The tracker is constantly sending information and using battery power. If the car is left for a period of time the auxiliary battery will run flat. They confirmed that the vehicles not on the trial have not had the same problem.
The update was to fix an EPS error light that had been appearing on the dash. They are also hoping that the update will fix the problem that we have with the immobiliser.
It is good to get back to electric car driving again after being without the i MiEV for a week. Hopefully this will be the last time the car needs to be returned and we can enjoy the remaining months of driving.
