In search of petrol

16th June 2010 - Today I had to go in search of petrol. There are a few days when we both need to use a car.Our second car is a MG ZS, which is now only used occasionally.
I got in the car to find that the fuel gauge was low and I needed to find a petrol station. Because we live in the country there is no station in easy reach for us. We have found that in the past few years a lot of the petrol stations in villages have closed down. We have a wide choice if we head into Coventry, but I am normally in the electric car when we go into town.
On this occasion I drove to a station near the next village only to find it had closed down during the last few weeks. I had then run out of time to refuel before collecting the children, so off to school. After school next search for petrol, out of the village and in the opposite direction to get some. In total I drove an extra 9 miles just to fill up with petrol.
We find it very convenient to charge an electric car at home and it only takes a few seconds to plug it in. We leave the car to charge over night so it is full for the next day.
