Mitsubishi i MiEV back on the road

20th August 2010 - Hurray, our Mitsubishi i MiEV is back on the road again.

Over the last few months we have had a problem with the 12 volt auxiliary battery. On three occasions the battery has drained completely, which has meant that although the main battery pack is charged we are unable to star the car. On two occasions the car had to be collected by the Mitsubishi Assistance Package (MAP).

Today Mitsubishi have replaced the 12 volt auxiliary battery and ran some tests to confirm that the battery is not being drained. It sounds like some of the other vehicles have had the same problem as the garage confirmed that they have had to replace someone else’s battery as well. Hopefully this will be the last problem we have and we will be able to enjoy the remaining four months on the CABLED trial.

We are now looking forward to getting back into the i MiEV again after having three weeks driving a petrol car.
