Peugeot iOn price

9th September 2010 - Today Peogeot announces prices of iOn electric car.

Already prices have been announced for the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi i MiEV in the UK of £23,990. Peugeot have now joined the launch of the electric car by announcing their price on a lease only option of £498 per month over a period of 4 years or 40,000 miles. Over the period of 4 years the total amount paid would be £23904. This makes all 3 cars the same price, but there are a few advantages.

The lease of the Peugeot iOn also includes full warranty cover, servicing and maintenance, and a rescue service. If you purchase a Nissan Leaf or Mitsubishi i MiEV you own the car and although new cars can depreciate quick to start, they will still have a value at the end of the 4 year period.

Although the iOn is based on the Mitsubishi i MiEV they have made a few changes including a range of up to 100 miles depending on driving techniques. They have modified the electric powertrain to increase the amount of battery charging that occurs when decelerating or braking.

If you are thinking of getting one of the first electric cars when they are available you now have a choice, it will be interesting to see what finance is available from Nissan and Mitsubishi.
