The Renault DeZir electric concept car

Renault DeZir
electric concept car
The Renault DeZir electric concept car has been announced ready for the 2010 Paris Motor Show. It is a 2 seater sports coupe in red with gull wing doors.
The cars design has been completed under the leadership of Laurens van den Acker and is the start of the new vision for the future.
The DeZir is powered by an electric motor which is mounted in a mid-rear position to help weight distribution over the front and rear wheels. It is powered by a 24kWh lithium-ion battery, which is located behind the seat.

The range of the car is 100 miles with a top speed of 112mph, 0-62 in 5 seconds. The motor is the same that is used for the production electric cars, but the torque has been up rated to 110kW. In order to get the maximum range the weight of the DeZir has been kept to a minimum.
There are Three battery-charging methods - Standard charging (fully charges the battery in eight hours), fast charging using a 400V three-phase current (charges the battery to 80 per cent of its capacity in 20 minutes) and fast battery exchange usi Renault's Quick Drop technology.
