REVA G-Wiz electric car

3rd May 2006 - We took a trip to Goingreen on Southall today to test drive the Reva G-Wiz. They had a good stock of cars and plenty of workshop space for repairs and servicing.

On first sight the Reva G-Wiz looks small and quirky. Inside there is enough room for 2 adults and 2 children. At a real push an adult can sit in the back but it is not comfortable.

The test drive was around Southall in traffic. In these conditions the car is great, very easy to drive and can keep up with traffic. We managed to reach 40mph which was the maximum speed in the area.

Our first impressions of the car was a good, fun, practical and economical car. The main question was is it going to be suitable for us as a family? We have a young son who is still in a baby seat. We tried the baby seat in the G-Wiz but there was no way it would fit in the back. Reva have said that a child seat will only fit in the front. The seat would fit in the front no problem at all, but then it was going to be a tight squeeze to fit in the whole family.

Now to go home and decide if it is the right car for us.
